Mohammad Reza Karimi Saremi

Mohammad Reza Karimi SaremiBorn in 1964. He is the head director of Cinema and Theater Affairs of the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (Kanoon). He is an author and university lecturer as well. He has been being the director of Tehran International Animation Festival (TIAF) since 1997. He is also the manager of ASSITEJ. He has produced over 250 films, 100 TV programs and 90 plays on the stage. He has won more than 600 international awards for his works. He has been national and international juror in 30 festivals. He has innovated 30 novel cultural and artistic ideas during 30-year ministration.

 

Aleksandr Petrov

Aleksandr PetrovHe was born in 1957 in the Prechistoe village near Yaroslavl. After he graduates in the art faculty from GIOC in 1982 he starts working in the animation sphere as a painter. At that time he works in Armenfilm studio in Yerevan and in Sverdlovsk studio in Yekaterinburg. His first original work is the film "The Cow" which is 10-minutes long. In 1999 he returns to Yaroslavl where he establishes his own studio. From 1996 to 1999 he lived in Montreal, Canada where he worked on his film "The Old Man and The Sea" (Oscar, 2000) together with Production Pascal Blais studio. All of his films are made with the technique of painting under camera. He currently lives and works in Yaroslavl.

 

Nevelina Popova

Nevelina PopovaNevelina Popova is a scriptwriter, she has worked as a script consultant in the script department of Boyana Film Studio (1979-1991). She has been teaching scriptwriting and animation dramaturgy at New Bulgarian University since 1995. Her book The Dramaturgical Space of Animation (2016) is the first overall theoretical work in the field of animation scriptwriting in Bulgaria. It examines the different dramaturgical approaches in animation, analyzing and systemizing the basic models and structures in this specific field, focusing on the short films and the poetic codes.

 

Zoltán Szilágyi Varga

Zoltán Szilágyi VargaZoltán Szilágyi Varga was born in 1951 in Kíkes (Transylvania). He graduated as a graphic artist from the Ion Andreescu University of Fine Arts in Kolozsvár in 1976. From 1976 to 1985 he worked for Animafilm, Bucharest. In 1986 he graduated as an animation director from the Bucharest Theatre and Film Art. From 1987 to 2015 he worked at Kecskemétfilm Ltd. He was awarded the Béla Balázs Prize. His films have been awarded at several international film festivals.
